Register with a doctor

It's important that you are registered with a doctor while you study at City so you can get medical care if you need it.

It is important that you register with a GP near where you live. It can be difficult to register with GPs in central London, so we encourage you to do so as soon as possible, rather than wait until you feel unwell. Please note, there are no changes for European Students regarding registering with a GP after the Brexit vote and there will be no additional fees. Please note there is no GP at the Student Health Service.

You can find out about services in your area by contacting the following agencies:

Every GP service should have a leaflet which will tell you the surgery hours and types of services offered - e.g. contraception, smears, travel clinics, etc.

Choose a doctor within walking distance and find out their opening times, either visit or phone to check if they will take you on as a patient. If you are accepted you will be asked for your name, address, date of birth and for your medical card (if you have one).
