City’s IT support staff are here to help with IT-related queries. To get in contact, log a request, call our 24/7 support service on 020 7040 8181 or speak with a member of the team directly at one of our three campus locations.
When you activate your IT account at City on activation.city.ac.uk/activation, you’ll receive your username and will be able to set up your password.
Accessing your City email account
You can access your email via any web browser or via your mobile / handheld device by visiting email.city.ac.uk.
Install Microsoft Office on up to five of your own devices
You can download the latest version of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One Drive, Microsoft Teams, OneNote and much more on your own computers and tablets.
All students have unlimited access to LinkedIn Learning. The platform provides access to over 13,000 professional courses developed by industry experts.
Moodle is City’s online learning environment and provides access to module content, activities and communication tools for your studies. You may also use Moodle to submit assessments, review feedback and access provisional grades online.
Your lecturers will explain more about how Moodle is used on your programme.
Microsoft Teams and Zoom enable you to engage with others using video and voice calls. Microsoft Teams is also used for online chat and joint document collaboration.

We understand that fully online learning may be unfamiliar to City’s students and so to help you with the rapid transition to online, we have put together some tips to support you.
Once you have set up your City IT account you will also have access to your print credit account. You will need to top-up the credit on your account before you can print.
City provides a secure wireless network called eduroam.
We offer access to a large variety of software applications through our AppsAnywhere service. This also enables access to applications remotely off-campus.
CityNav is our mobile app to help you find your way around campus, even inside our buildings.

Library Services
When you first start using the Library, the online guide is a great place to begin. You also have access to our online Library Induction module in Moodle.
Our Library Guides covering over 30 subject areas are also available to give you an insight into how to make the most of your library and its resources.
The Library team provides a dedicated, professional and responsive library service in three locations across City. Our libraries have a wealth of printed and online resources, from core textbooks to specialist journals and databases, to support your learning and research.
Each School has a dedicated Subject Librarian who will be happy to help you. You can talk to any of the librarians at Help Desks during our regular opening hours, or you can use our Online Chat and ‘Ask Us’ services to contact us when you are not on campus.
