Events for International Students

We will be running a number of sessions especially for international students during Welcome Week to help you settle into the UK.

International Student Essentials

Friday 13th September 2019, 11 :00- 16:00
The Great Hall (1st floor, College Building)

In this session, you will learn the essentials for settling in, UK culture and practical tips and advice. You will find out more information about International Students House and City’s support services for international students. You will also have the opportunity to meet other international students and make new friends. This event is suitable for new undergraduate, postgraduate and research students.

Unfortunately this session is now fully booked.

International Students Meet Up

Tuesday 17th September 2019, 17:00 - 18:00
Courtyard Café (1st floor, Tait Building)

An opportunity for you to meet other international students. No need to book a place, just come along on the day

Introduction to Tier 4

Various dates throughout Welcome Week
Please check your programme timetable.

Please join us to learn about your responsibilities as a Tier 4 Students in the UK and what you can and cannot do on your Tier 4 Visa. The session will cover period travelling outside the UK and attendance monitoring responsibilities, as well as working after your studies. Please note that this session is compulsory for all Tier 4 Students.

International Students' Welcome Reception

Monday 23rd September 2019, 18:00 - 20:00
Guildhall, Gresham Street, London EC2V 7HH

Join us at the Guildhall for a drinks reception and celebrate your arrival at City with a formal welcome by the President of City, University of London, Professor Sir Paul Curran.

Dress: Smart/formal dress or national costume of your home country. Casual clothes such as jeans, shorts, t-shirts or trainers will not be permitted. Anyone who arrives at the venue in casual dress will be turned away.

Security: Anyone without a ticket, or who arrives at the venue without a valid City Student ID card will not be permitted entry to the event.

Admission Price: Free, however online booking is required and you must bring your ticket on the day. Online booking will open in mid-September 2019.
