This online session will include information about the vital digital skills support available to students and will introduce you to Moodle our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and the Learning with Moodle module, which will support you through your studies at City.
The session will also include information on how to access LinkedIn Learning and the benefits of using the platform to support your studies. The main 45 minute session will be run by the Student Digital Skills team and will include a 15 minute Q&A at the end so we can answer any digital support related questions you may have.

Monday 26 to 30 September - Sustainability Treasure Hunt
Sustainability Treasure Hunt
Want a different way to discover your new campus? Take part in a fun and engaging treasure hunt, set across Northampton Square campus. Running all week you will crack cryptic clues, find intel about sustainability initiatives around the University and be in with a chance of winning a sustainability hamper worth £50!
The treasure hunt takes roughly 30 minutes to complete.

Monday 26 September
Break the Safe
The Students' Union have got some amazing prizes on offer. All you have to do is crack the code to open the safe. Sounds simple doesn't it? Take a chance, come along to the Pavillion throughout Welcome Week and give it a go.

Sport Clubs will be in the outdoor area, giving information regarding Teams and other ways you can be involved in organised and social physical activity.

10am-4pm Welcome Waffles
Experience life-chaning savoury and sweet waffles thanks to the Students' Union and their friends at Utter Waffle. Make sure you sign up to get a free waffle ticket and grab yours before they're all gone!

10am - 4pm Beekeeping Taster Sessions
City houses Beehives on the roof of Tait building and you can get involved by signing up to a taster session on Monday 26 September.
The 30 minute sessions will give you a taste of what it’s like to be part of the Bee Team at City!
The Bee Team is open to all students and staff and responsibilities include looking after the hives at City and harvesting the honey (around 10-20 kg a year).
Just turn up in your normal clothes (although no open shoes or high heels please) and we will provide all the equipment. Each session will be led by an experienced Beekeeper.

Location: Meet on the third floor of the Tait building opposite Room C300. This is where the cupboard is that stores the suits. Once we have changed we will go up to Tait roof where the Bee Hives are located.

4pm - 6pm Postgrad Network Welcome Event
Are you a new or returning postgrad student? Welcome week is for you too. The Students' Union are putting on an event on just for you to get to know your peers and have fun while doing it.

A student must have in the freshers calendar. Take in the best sites of London aboard the Dutch Master. With must-have photos of the opening of Tower Bridge, the Houses of Parliament and the O2, immerse yourself in the full London experience.

Join First Mile to discuss the importance of recycling, how to do it effectively to minimise and ideally totally eliminate contamination, learn what you can/cannot put into certain streams, find what happens to your waste and recycling when it is collected, and how little changes make a BIG impact to the planet.
We will be discussing new resources we can create from your recycling, and how you can play your part in reducing single-use plastic!

12.30 - 2pm Guided mindfulness walk for International Students
Amongst the business of Welcome Week, take some time for a relaxed, mindful journey with fellow students in the surrounding area to campus through green, tranquil spaces and discover some hidden gems along the way.
Following on from our International Students’ Day on Saturday 24 September, this event is primarily aimed for international students to provide further opportunities to meet up. However, all interested students are welcome, particularly if you would like to familiarise yourself with the local area.
If joining, you are encouraged to install the Go Jauntly app and create an account in advance to access the walking route, as well as others, which staff will provide guidance on. Please also download the digital handout for the walk which provides information on mindful walks.

Is climate change and sustainability on your agenda? Join SOS-UK and the Sustainability team to find out what is meant by ‘sustainability’ at City and how this relates to your studies and student life.
The workshop will cover campaigning, climate justice, education for sustainable development and what initiatives you can get involved in during your time at City.
