Last month, 11 Midwifery students past and present took part in the Three Peaks Challenge across the Lake District. The challenge is a 24.5 mile hike up Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough mountain peaks.

The students were raising money for charity 4Louis, which helps bereaved parents who lose their children before, during or just after birth. They provide support, memory boxes and much more to families going through an extremely tough time.

The group overcame knee pain and tough challenges to complete the 24.5 miles, walked an ascent of 5,200ft and even stumbled upon sheep giving birth! One member managed the whole challenge after completing a 12 hour shift the day before and sacrificing a night’s sleep to travel from London to Yorkshire to complete the challenge!

Congratulations to the team for conquering the three peaks and raising money for such a worthy cause!
