Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) takes place on 27th January each year, the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1945. Millions of people lost their lives: Jews, Romanies, people with disabilities, LGBT+ people, through the evil attitudes, policies and systematic ‘othering’ from the Nazis.
Rabbi Gavin Broder, Jewish Chaplain, Kaylah Lafeuillee from the Christian Union and Saqlain Riaz, Students’ Union President share their thoughts from a faith perspective with Chaplaincy coordinator, Revd Ian Worsfold about why we should mark Holocaust Memorial Day 2021.
