While it's important you focus on your studies during your time at City, having time to relax and remain healthy in body and mind is essential, and what better way to do this than by getting involved in social sport?

The CityActive programme is a great way to meet new friends from other courses and to try out new activities in a fun and friendly environment.

How is it different from joining a sports club?

You are not required to play competitively or enter tryouts - just come along to CitySport, by yourself or with friends, and join in with everyone else there.

How do I get involved?

Sessions take place during term time and cost £1.50. All equipment is provided. You can then turn up with your City student ID card, pay, and play. It’s that simple, and with no weekly commitment our sessions are ideal for those with a busy course schedule

When does it happen?

CityActive sessions will resume the week commencing Monday 4th October 2021. For the full timetable, visit the 'Social sport' section on the 'Sport and recreation' pages of the Student Hub.

So why not make the most of your university experience and sign up to a session or two?

Trials

If you'd rather get involved with competitive sport, some sports teams are City are still holding trials.

Whatevver your sporting background there are opportunites to get involved with the Universitiy's sports club, many of which compete in either British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) leagues or the London Universities Sports Leagues (LUSL).

To find out the day and time of your chosen sport, just visit the sport club section on the sport and recreation pages of the Student Hub, or email sports@city.ac.uk.
