If you're coming to campus, you are required to carry your City student ID card with you at all times. This is both so you can access the buildings and relevants areas to you as well as being proof of your status as a registered student at City.
If you are joining City, University of London as a new student in 2021/2, once your Online ID check has been finalised you will receive a notification to confirm your fully registered status for your course. Within this notification will be a link to booking system where you will be asked to book a slot to come onto campus and collect your ID card by Friday 1st October. If you unable to collect your card by this date, you should follow the process for returning students below.
If you are a returning student that has not already collected an ID card during the 2020/21 academic year or your card does not look like the imaged thumbnail, you will need to collect a new ID card as the University is updating our campus to move from 'swipe' access to 'tap' access.
Between Monday 27th September - Friday 15th Octobe, Security will have a temporary space set up in AG10, College Building for returning students to come and collect new ID cards. You will need to book a slot in advance beforehand which you can do here (new students should only booking using this link if you are unable to book and collect your ID before Friday 1st October). You can only book up to two weeks in advance, for example, you will be able to book for Friday 15th October from Friday 1st October onwards.
For both new and returning students, if you are unable to book and collect your ID before Friday 15th October, after this date you will need to go to the Security Office (just off the Main Walkway on L1 University Building) to collect your ID card - no booking will be needed.
If you have been issued with an up to date card by City which you have lost or have had stolen, you will need to get a replacement card from the Student Centre.
- If your card was lost, you will need to pay a charge for the replacement which is £7 if this is paid for online or £10 if this is paid for at the office, and it can only be paid in cash.
- If you have been a victim of crime and have had your ID card stolen, a replacement will be provided free of charge on production of a police crime reference number.
