London175 is looking to bring together a diverse group of leaders between ages 18-25 across London and asks them: ‘What will the legacy of your generation be?’

In the 1850s when London congestion reached a crisis point, a radical idea resulted in the world’s first underground railway service operating by 1865. It was a smashing success and London’s Underground will celebrate its 175th anniversary in 2038 – where we will be London’s leaders. London175 invites you to step forward and tackle some of the challenges London faces today. It asks us to come together and match the ambition of London’s leaders back in 1863 to create our generation’s legacy for London.
London175 is part of Legacy; a global campaign by Common Purpose, which invests in young people across the world so they can become a connected generation of leaders with a clear vision for what their legacy will be. During this programme, you will join a group of roughly 100 young people in London to tackle this year’s challenge: “How do we act together to transform London into a cleaner, greener place for all by 2038?”
During the online programme, you’ll investigate issues, collaborate, hold difficult conversations, and work up ideas to present to the leaders of London. By doing London175 you will:
- Learn skills and tools to practice leadership in your own context including team building, problem solving and communication
- Build connections with your peers and established leaders from across London
- Earn a micro-credential
It will run on the 17th - 22nd March 2022, 1pm - 5pm every day online.
