With the future being increasingly impacted by climate change, the Student Sustainability Office (SSO) wants your input and help to further improve sustainability policies at City and work towards contributing to a solution in the local community.

A recent study conducted by SOS-UK shows that 90% of students are concerned about climate change, which prompted the SSO to launch the sustainability survey to get your input and help to improve sustainability policies at City and in the local community. The student feedback will inform new and existing activities to ensure they align with students’ post-covid views on inequalities, sustainability, social justice, and climate change and benefit all City students.

By the end of this research project, the aim is to:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of student views and develop a cohesive community, following two years of disruption, change and increasing attention and awareness of sustainability issues.
  • Help re-think and shape sustainability initiatives at City relating to both formal curriculum and extra-curricular activities, establishing a diverse community to inform future activities.
  • Establishing a diverse community to inform future activities (webinars, workshops, guest speakers, free food events, hackathons, business talks on ESG, CSR, B corps, ethical practices such as Fairtrade, labels, social enterprises, etc)

The survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete and will close at 9am on Wednesday 1 June 2022. Upon completion of the survey, you will be entered into a prize draw to win one of three £20 supermarket vouchers, which will be announced on Tuesday 7 June 2022.
