Student Voter Registration
City, University of London provides you with a service to register to vote in UK elections.
How to register
To register to vote for the UK General Election, you must be:
- a UK or Irish citizen
- a qualifying Commonwealth citizen living in the UK
You can check if you are a qualifying Commonwealth citizen here.
As a student, you can register at both your home and term time address and pick the most convenient on polling day. You can only vote once in general elections but you can vote in your home and term-time local authority in local elections.
You will need your National Insurance number (found on payslips or your student loan documentation).
Make sure your voice is heard – it only takes three minutes to register.
