Future ceremonies
Forthcoming graduation ceremony dates
The next set of graduation ceremonies will take place on Monday 17, Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 July 2023.
Friday 14 July 2023 has also been provisionally booked. (This date replaces the previously advertised Thursday 27 July 2023). Once this extra date has been confirmed, this webpage will be updated.
These ceremonies are for those students who completed their studies (and are awarded) between January and July 2023.
Please note: The decision as to which dates specific Schools/courses are invited will not be made until early/mid-April. Once these details are known, they will be published on this webpage.
To view previous ceremonies, please see the recent events page for the January 2023 graduation.
Register for your graduation
All eligible students will receive an email invitation in mid/late-April. Please follow the instructions in the email on how to register for your ceremony and book your gown.
IMPORTANT: Please do not wait until you have been awarded before registering for your graduation. Numbers are capped and ceremonies do sell out. If you register and then (for whatever reason) are not awarded in time, your tickets and gown will be automatically refunded, and you will be invited to a future ceremony (once you are eligible).
If you have not received an email by Monday 1 May 2023, and believe you should have been invited to register for a ceremony, please contact our Graduation Team.
Buy tickets for your physical graduation
Graduands are admitted to the ceremony free of charge. We offer each graduand the opportunity to purchase a maximum of two guest tickets at a cost of £25 per ticket - this includes a post-ceremony reception for all guests and new graduates. Further guest tickets may be available to purchase at a later date.
Visas for you and your guests for an in-person graduation
You may need to apply for a visa to return to the UK to attend your ceremony, so here is some practical advice to help you.
If you have a Student visa that expires before the date of your graduation, you must return to your home country before it expires and return to the UK on a tourist visa.
If you change the type of visa you have before graduation, for example if you get a job here, then you will no longer be bound by the Student visa regulations, but subject to the rules of your new visa you may be able to attend graduation.
Your guests may need a visas to come to your graduation and information about Visitor visas for family is available on the City website.
