Student life

The London Student Sustainability Conference is returning on Thursday 27 February 2020! After a successful conference last year, we’re looking forward to welcoming students, staff, professionals and members of the public to find out more about the work which is inspiring positive impacts in the world.

Find out how you can apply to present your work below, or read more about our London Student Sustainability Conference 2019 .

Student presenters

The London Student Sustainability Conference highlights student research and projects which create positive impacts in the world. The conference is entirely student-led; with opportunities for students to exhibit their work through presentations, posters and performances.

The conference will take place on Thursday 27 February 2020. This is a great opportunity to share your work with a diverse audience, practice presentation skills and network with students, staff and professionals from the University of London and beyond.

Poster exhibition

All presenters, apart from video and performance submissions, will create a poster which will be displayed throughout the day. Posters are a great way to present your research/project in an attractive and easy-to-read format. Your poster should be A1 size (either landscape or portrait) and contain a mixture of text, images and graphics. Templates are available here for landscape and portrait  posters. You can decide on the layout, but it must be clear and logical so that the reader’s eye naturally follows the flow of text. Our poster checklist tells you all you need to know about creating a poster.

Oral presentations

In addition, students can present their project or research in a 10 minute presentation, using slides if you wish (PowerPoint, PDF, Prezi etc), which will then be followed by 10 minutes for questions and discussion.

Videos, performances and art installations

We also encourage students to apply whose project or research takes the form of a video, music, dance or spoken word performance, art installation or practical demonstration!

How to apply

Before you start your application, please take a look at the Application Guidelines to familiarize yourself with the key dates, submission requirements, and tips on applying.
