Cycling - active travel

Walking and cycling can be cheap, efficient and environmentally friendly ways of getting around London. It's also a good way to keep active during your commute.

City provides some facilities to make your travel more convenient, including a bike shed, showers and free drinking water, available for all students and staff.

Bike storage

City provides a Bike Bay for the use of students and staff.

The bike shed is located in the area between University Building and Drysdale Building. You access the shed from Northampton Square via the underpass adjacent to the Main Entrance. Once there you will need to swipe your City ID to get through the black gate.

This facility is provided for you only, please do not allow anyone else to enter with you.

Please note City, University of London provides welfare facilities for Staff/Students at their own risk and without accepting any liability for damage to, or theft of personal items on Campus, which includes bicycles left in bicycle bays.

If you live, work or study in Islington, why not book yourself a free adult cycle skills session and become a confident road cyclist? They can teach any level, provide you with a bike and meet you in a location and a time that suits you.

The adult 1:1 cycle skills sessions are kindly supported by Human Forest. You can also learn how to ride together as a family, by booking a family cycle skills session.
