About

Welcome to the City University Equestrian Team. 2021 will be the team’s first ever season and we cannot wait to have masses of fun and be super competitive!

BUCS horse riding competitions consist of a dressage test and a showjumping round, both on borrowed horses. You only get 5-7 minutes to warm up your horse and are judged against other people on the same horse.

In the league matches we will jump a 90cm course and ride a prelim/novice level dressage test. If we win the league then we go onto Regionals, and then Nationals which reaches 1.20cm showjumping and an Advanced Medium test.

There’s no need to have your own horse or be a specialist in a particular discipline – it’s the perfect way to get your horsey fix at Uni. While the BUCS team (of 4 riders) will be decided on previous experience and in-person trials, we’d also like to offer friendly competitions and lessons for people who are less experienced or completely new to riding.

How to get involved

Trials will happen in late September / early October. We’re really excited to find other riders and create a friendly, inclusive and fun club!

We are currently looking for riding schools to partner with so we welcome enquiries or suggestions.

If you would like to trial, get involved, or ask any questions please email us.
