Share your insights and get involved by signing up as a user tester for Web 2020. This key University project is focused on redeveloping the City website over the next 18 months and we need your help to make sure we’re making the right changes to the content and layouts, so it’s as convenient to use as possible.

There are a range of tests to get involved in, from short online tests to longer in-person sessions, and as a thank you for your help you’ll receive Amazon vouchers for each testing session you’re part of. No previous user testing experience is needed – simply fill in a short form to take part, and the Web Team will get in touch whenever there’s a suitable opportunity.

Project aims

City’s website is an important place to find university-wide information, and for prospective students and external stakeholders to find out about all the great work and support available here. The project aims to redevelop the website to ensure we present City as a unique and compelling institution with which to study, work, partner, or undertake research.

Project governance

The project is jointly led by Marketing and Communications and Information Technology and overseen by a Project Board, with input from stakeholders across the University.

Project process

The Project Team has already undertaken a content audit of the current site and market research on the potential student audience and will be taking a staged approach to the redevelopment by reformatting, repurposing and, where required, streamlining our current site in advance of content migration to the new site, which will go live in its entirety in 2020.
