To inform our overarching objectives and direction, City is currently developing a new vision and strategy and is looking for input from students, staff and alumni.

How you can get involved

From Monday 6th December, a set of questions will go live on our anonymised interactive online platform; the Big City Conversation, where you can comment on and vote for existing ideas and suggest your own themes and priorities which could be included.

You will receive an email from the President with your unique log-in details and instructions on how to register in order to take this opportunity to contribute to the strategy’s development.

In the new year, you will be able to review and feedback on the draft strategy outline which will incorporate everything learnt so far.

Professor Anthony Finkelstein, City President, provided some more information about the process and why it’s taking place below:

What the strategy will be used for

“Once complete, our strategy will set out a framework of priorities for us to work towards that will enable us to deliver the best experience for students, staff and alumni; ensure the world around us understand what makes City special; and will enable us to live our mission.”

The key elements of City’s new strategy will be delivered by spring 2022. This phase will gather input from stakeholders and will rely on the support and engagement from staff, students and alumni.

Why we’re developing a new strategy now

“We operate in a very crowded and competitive Higher Education ecosystem, as well as operating in a period of considerable uncertainty; in the policy environment and in the global social and economic environment.

“Now is the time for us to develop a distinctive and action-focused strategy, that will guide City's future successes.”
